You to Me

In you, i saw an inkling of me.
You smell of my musty,
Worn-out clothes, fused perfume
And the day i have lived.
Your brown skin, lined with life,
Will be mine too. The rainbow threads
In your rucksack are the chisel knife
Needles in mine.
Within you i hear my million
Gazillion trepidations, and all
My lies i whisper within
To make me Believe.
And yet, when you’re gone, exploded
Into all the shrapnel that now
Scrapes my arteries, the blood
i taste is mine alone…
